Resolution

This market resolves YES if the Bank of Canada's Governing Council announces a reduction to its policy interest rate (the overnight rate target) at any scheduled meeting held in October 2026, otherwise NO. The resolution source is the official Bank of Canada press release or monetary policy announcement published on the Bank of Canada website (bankofcanada.ca) immediately following the decision. A rate cut is defined as a lowering of the upper bound of the overnight rate target range by at least 0.25 percentage points (25 basis points) from the rate in effect before the October meeting. A hold or an increase does not qualify. Mere speculation, market expectations, or statements of intent by officials do not qualify; only a formal announced decision counts. The resolution date is the date of the Bank of Canada's next scheduled policy announcement in October 2026.
